Heather Susek (Coach)
As a player Heather earned a spot on the Keystone State Games and winning Silver and Four Gold Medals, Susek was also involved in the USA Futures Program. She won the Gold Medal at the 2008 National Futures and was then selected for Junior Olympics. At the Junior Olympics she earned the Bronze and Silver Medals in 2003 and 2005. She then participated in Junior National Camp in 2006 and 2007. Susek won the Gold Medal at the Can-American Games in 2007. In 2008 she participated in the USA Field Hockey’s High Performance Training Program.
During her tenure at Syracuse University, Susek was apart of a team that won three Big East Championships, advanced to the NCAA tournament all four years, won three straight Big East regular season championships, made four NCAA Elite 8 appearances, made two Final Four appearances and became the first women’s team at Syracuse to reach No. 1 in a national poll.
Currently, Susek coaches Varsity at Moravia High School. She coached them to a Sectional Game, which was their first appearance in 20 years. She is also a USA Futures coach for the Elite level in Upstate New York. She coaches elite level players dynamic skills at a high speed to develop their skills for the future. She was a Syracuse Surge field hockey coach that developed weekly curriculum to develop players’ technical and tactical knowledge of the game. The age range was from U12-U19 players. She coached Kai-Zen field hockey camp to various age and ability levels for seven years.
